Some 1.8 million pilgrims from around the world stayed in Muzdalifah on Wednesday night, after standing in Upper Arafat to perform the Great Hajj, where they performed the Dhuhr and Asr prayers.

After their arrival to Muzdalifah, the guests of Rahman performed the Maghrib and Isha prayers in combination and shortly, following the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and began to pick up the Jamarat, and they will sleep this night in Muzdalifah, then head to Mina after the dawn prayer on Wednesday to throw the first ember of Aqaba and sacrifice the guidance, then they decompose from Ihram and perform Tawaf Al-Ifadah.

This departure from Arafat to Muzdalifah represents the third stage of the movement of pilgrims in the holy sites to perform Hajj.

Hajj Statistics

Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq al-Rabiah announced that the number of pilgrims this year reached more than 1.8 million, coming from more than 150 countries.

The authority indicated that the number of pilgrims coming from Arab countries amounted to 21% of the total pilgrims, while the number of pilgrims from non-Arab Asian countries amounted to 63.5% of the total pilgrims, while the number of pilgrims from non-Arab African countries reached 13.4%, while the number of pilgrims from Europe, America, Australia and other countries reached 2.1%.

As for the ways of pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom, more than one million and 593 thousand arrived through air ports, while 60 thousand and 813 pilgrims arrived through land ports, while 6831 pilgrims arrived through sea ports.

The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that on behalf of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived on Tuesday in Mina, to supervise the services and facilities provided to pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and safety.
