Warsaw is investigating the terrorist attacks on the Nord Streams, Stanislav Zharin, Secretary of State in the office of the Prime Minister of Poland and at the same time Deputy Minister-Coordinator of the Polish special services, announced its first results on his Twitter on June 22.

"The Polish prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation into the undermining of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines. During the investigation, no evidence was found that the persons on the yacht "Andromeda" were involved in causing damage ... This yacht arrived in Poland from the island. — RT) Rügen with six people on board. After a 12-hour stay in one of the Polish ports, the yacht left the territorial waters of Poland, "said Zharin.

According to him, the results of the investigation showed that during the yacht's stay in the Polish port, no items were loaded on board, and the crew of the vessel was inspected by the Polish border service. In addition, Zharin stressed that "there is no evidence" of the involvement of Polish citizens in the undermining of pipelines.

"The statements contained in some publications that "Poland was a logistics center for the operation to undermine Nord Stream" are completely untrue and are not supported by the evidence of the investigation ... The reports that have appeared on this occasion look like a typical tactic of obscuring the picture of events by multiplying conjectures and hypotheses. This is a typical practice of disinformation, which can make it difficult to establish the truth," Zharin said.

Earlier, he had already denied Poland's involvement in the terrorist attack on the Nord Streams, commenting on the publication of The Wall Street Journal, which says that German investigators are studying data indicating that Poland was allegedly used as an operational base for sabotage on Nord Stream. The WSJ article also examines the version according to which the terrorist attack on the gas pipelines was carried out by a certain pro-Ukrainian group that used the Andromeda pleasure yacht for this. However, according to the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, Polish investigators believe that this version could be used to create a false trail as part of an investigation into the explosion of gas pipelines. At the same time, Warsaw admitted Russia's involvement in the terrorist attacks on gas pipelines.

"Poland has nothing to do with undermining Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2. Attempts to link the Republic of Poland to these events are unfounded. The hypothesis that the explosion was committed by Russia, which had both the motive and the ability to carry out such an operation, remains valid," Zharin wrote on Twitter on June 10.

In turn, the press service of the Swedish prosecutor's office, which is conducting its own investigation into the incident, told RIA Novosti journalists that materials relating to the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream could be classified.

"If an indictment is drawn up, some of the investigation materials are likely to be made public. In general, the prosecutor in Sweden may also decide that some parts should remain confidential," the department said.

At the same time, if the investigation is terminated and there is no indictment, the Swedish prosecutor's office will not publish the case materials at all, the Swedish investigators added.

'Confuse the investigation'

Recall that after explosions occurred on September 26, 2022, two Russian export gas pipelines to Europe, Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2, Germany, Denmark and Sweden initiated investigations into the incident, but have not yet named the perpetrators. In early February, the organizer of the terrorist attacks on the pipelines was named by the American journalist and Pulitzer Prize laureate Seymour Hersh, who conducted an investigation and came to the conclusion that the sabotage was carried out by the United States and its allies, in particular Norway, which assisted in the installation of explosive devices by US Navy divers under the guise of NATO exercises Baltops.

At the end of March, Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the situation around the terrorist attack on Nord Stream, said that he agreed with the conclusions of the American journalist Hersh that Washington was behind the attacks on the pipelines. At the same time, Western countries did not allow representatives of Russia to investigate and denied access to data obtained during the investigations of the incident.

In an interview with reporters, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, called false allegations that Moscow is aware of the progress of these cases. According to him, national investigations of explosions "should be accelerated" and the UN Security Council, which, in addition to the Russian Federation, includes China, the United States, Great Britain and France, should be informed about them.

"So far, we see only deliberate attempts to confuse the investigation with the help of certain versions that I don't even want to comment on, because they are one more absurd than the other," Polyansky told reporters, stressing that the Russian Federation will strive for international investigation and "punishment of those who are behind this crime."

Later, the diplomat wrote in his Telegram channel that Russia doubts that Germany, Denmark and Sweden will conduct their investigations into the terrorist attack on the Nord Streams.

"Take the investigation aside"

As noted by RISS expert Sergei Ermakov, despite the initiation of several national investigations of the emergency at Nord Stream by Western countries, all of them are aimed at "hiding the true picture of what happened."

"The Polish authorities are also doing this, who want not only to leave the main customer in the person of the United States in the shadows, but also to shield themselves in this whole story. At the same time, it is not for nothing that Warsaw focuses on the fact that the version of Russia's involvement in the terrorist attacks is still being considered by the Polish leadership. Such statements are focused not even on the Russian man in the street, but on the Western, who is trying to understand the essence of what is happening, but instead of objective explanations receives from his authorities and the media an extremely confusing picture of what happened, which does not fit in many places, "the analyst said in an interview with RT.

At the same time, Yermakov fully admits Poland's involvement in the organization of explosions at Nord Stream.

"Warsaw, as one of the beneficiaries of such a terrorist attack, in addition to Washington, could well be involved in one way or another in the US plan to destroy pipelines. Apparently, it is this and the prospect of serious legal consequences that make the Polish authorities now so desperately and actively justify themselves, while at the same time turning the arrows on Russia, which was definitely unprofitable, "the expert emphasized.

A similar opinion is shared by Nikita Danyuk, Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, member of the Public Chamber of Russia. According to him, Poland is betrayed by its "rather nervous public position regarding the tracts on the Nord Streams."

"Innocent people don't behave like that. Even if Warsaw was not directly involved in committing sabotage, it could be involved in their planning, the development of an algorithm of actions, "the analyst said in a commentary to RT.

According to Danyuk, if the United States and its NATO allies had not been involved in the terrorist attacks on the gas pipelines, the reports on the investigation of the emergency would have been made public long ago.

"It is simply impossible to carry out such a serious infrastructural terrorist attack without traces - it has been even more impossible to search for these traces for almost a year. It is obvious that the national investigations that were initiated in the West were initially organized in such a way that in the end it was not possible to find those responsible. That is why contradictory versions of Poland and other countries are constantly thrown in, although everyone understands perfectly well that the United States is behind the terrorist attack. It seems that the United States has given the task to its satellites to come up with any mechanisms of justification, as long as they do not mention Washington, "the expert noted.

At the same time, as Yermakov stated, objective investigations in the West tend to ignore as much as possible or "put spokes in their wheels."

"This was the case with the data provided by Seymour Hersh. At first, they tried to present him as almost crazy, and then they began to criticize the investigation itself for the alleged lack of specifics. However, there is just plenty of it in Hersh's information. But the West will continue to do everything to divert the investigation aside. And any attempts to find out the truth will be put on the brakes, "the analyst is sure.

This is also evidenced by the recognition of the Swedish prosecutor's office in its readiness to classify data on the investigation of the terrorist attacks on the Nord Streams, Yermakov added.

"At the same time, fragments of investigations can still be made public, but only those that are interpreted in two ways, so that the West can continue to make ridiculous and unfounded accusations against Russia," the expert concluded.
