Just over a year after the park next to the Russian embassy was named Free Ukraine Park, it was time for the adjacent bus stop.
– It will be a clear signal that Region Stockholm and Sweden stand behind Ukraine, says Aida Hadzialic (S), who is chairman of the regional board.
Ukrainian ambassador in attendance
The region has previously sent medical equipment and medicines to Ukraine and more investments are planned. Soon, eight buses will be donated from the region.
The Ukrainian ambassador was also present at the inauguration and held talks with both regional politicians and activists.
"All small and big gestures play a role in supporting Ukraine," Plachotnyuk said.
