Bangkok, June 6 (Li Yingmin, Zhang Jingmin) On June 10, local time, Yin Wisa, Chumphon Province, Thailand, cut the first knife of durian and opened the 6 durian harvest season.

14 provinces in southern Thailand today simultaneously picked durian and held a durian festival to celebrate. Chumphon province produces more than half of the durian in southern Thailand, and Chumphon Wisa urged all departments in Chumphon to be aware of the importance of improving durian quality.

According to Wisa, the 2023 Durian Festival event is held to promote the quality of local durian to consumers at home and abroad. According to Wisa, the durian produced in Chumphon is of high quality, and farmers have been guided by market demand, from cultivating with excellent varieties to harvesting high-quality products, including selling to consumers, to ensure the quality of durian.

Suban Rakthong, Chumphon's agriculture department, revealed that Chumphon is expected to have 337,376 tonnes of durian on the market this year, sold to domestic and international markets, with China being its important market.

The Durian Festival on that day included academic exhibitions and tastings of the first durian picking, durian and durian-related products.

It is reported that as of June 2023, 6, 8 durian pickers have been registered in Chumphon Province, and from that day, they will start the durian picking work until the end of the year. (End)
