QUESTION: Is there anything special about this third title at Roland Garros?

ANSWER: "It's hard to compare. Last year, it was a confirmation that my first title (in 2020, editor's note) was not a combination of circumstances. That one was a little more difficult to get because of injuries, pressure and the fact that I was defending my title. So I'm very happy to have managed all this. But it was a team effort with Maciej (Ryszczuk, his physiotherapist, editor's note) who took care of my health and the small injuries I had. It was thanks to him that I was able to play, both after Indian Wells and Rome. So a big thank you to the team because without them I wouldn't be here."

Q: Can you describe your emotions at the end of the match?

A: "First the surprise, because I had seen all Karolina's matches in which she was able to reverse this type of score. Before the match ball, I thought she was going to come back. So I just played and gave it my all. And I'm very happy. I suddenly felt all the fatigue of these two weeks. Maybe my matches weren't physically exhausting, but it's hard to stay focused for almost three weeks. And even before because since Stuttgart (mid-April) I have not returned home. So I'm happy to have finished the clay court season so well, to have survived it. I think I will never doubt my strength again."

Q: How did you manage to regain control of the match at the end of the third set?

A: "After so many ups and downs, I stopped thinking about the score. I trusted my intuition more, because I knew I could play a little better if I managed to relax a little. It helped me in the third set. But honestly, the game was so long, with so many ups and downs, that I don't really know."

Q: You've won your first four Grand Slam finals. How far do you imagine going?

A: "I don't really project myself. I'm just happy with what has happened in the last few weeks. I don't know what I'm capable of. So I will work day by day to play the best tennis possible and grow as a player. I don't set records or crazy goals for myself. I know what works best for me is staying cool, that's what I'm committed to doing."
