"It is the left of government that changes the life you seek to revive," Bernard Cazeneuve told about 2,000 people, before launching into a speech where he spoke at length about the France, its language, culture and history.

The former mayor of Cherbourg left the PS after the Nupes agreement concluded more than a year ago with LFI, EELV, the communists and the socialists. With his movement, he intends to federate the left-wing tendencies hostile to this alliance.

The former Minister of the Interior, who paid tribute to François Hollande but also to François Mitterrand and Michel Rocard, did not however spare Emmanuel Macron, holding according to him a "new right" that "flatters the clienteles" and "opposes the categories".

But, he repeated, "the main adversary" remains "the far right and the far right".

Bernard Cazeneuve outlined throughout his speech a possible presidential candidacy, assuring the room of his "will", his "stubbornness" and his "determination" because "the Nation aspires to another path".

"To those who seem to fear" that he will be a candidate, he replies: "when you have been a candidate 12 times in an election, nothing in the electoral code prevents you from being a candidate for the 13th time."
