There was a bit of a cheerful and expectant atmosphere in the dressing room at the old F4 on Frösön on Friday morning. Some had to clean a little extra as the officer was not really satisfied at the inspection.

But at the lineup in the corridor a moment later, the whole squad received praise, they were told that everyone was approved and war-placed.

Continued career with the Swedish Armed Forces

SVT talked to Elias Svedberg from Genvalla outside Östersund and to Johanna Tiselius from Bålsta. Both are considering a continued career in the armed forces eventually.

It was in January last year that I21 Västernorrlands regemente with Jämtlands fältjägarkår was formed. Sollefteå got back its I21 and Östersund got "a branch"; Jämtland Field Jaeger Corps.

Several challenges

The recruits stepped in in June last year and on Friday there was a closing ceremony at the old F4 on Frösön.

Company Commander Martin Öhagen said that it had been a special year with several challenges.

-It was a new education, some material was delayed, it was a bit like reinventing the wheel but it has gone well.
