It was on May 30 that the alleged rape allegedly took place. According to prosecutor Andreas Nyberg, the man, who is in his 30s, arranged to meet the young women to buy sexual services. The women are both over 15 years old, but under 18 years old.

"They had an agreement to buy sexual services, but it has since turned into the plaintiff being subjected to other sexual acts," says Andreas Nyberg.

The man was caught by surveillance cameras

The day after the alleged rape, the women told an adult about what had happened. That person reported the incident to the police.

At first, the man was unidentified.

"There was evidence to unravel and we were able to establish an identity on him, including with the help of surveillance cameras and material found," Nyberg said.

According to Nyberg, the evidence is good.

"It's no more difficult in that case than in other cases. You have to go to the Consent Act, what is there consent for and what is there not for?

Denies any wrongdoing

The man is also suspected of another sexual offence that allegedly occurred last summer, when he contacted a child under the age of 15 for sexual purposes.

On Thursday, the man was remanded in custody by Umeå District Court. He is suspected of buying sexual services, sexual assault, contact to meet a child for sexual purposes, sexual molestation and rape.

The man denies the crime in both cases. SVT has sought the man's lawyer Fredrik Björk.
