Prosecutor on the manslaughter in Gällivare: "He had other options than lethal force"

It was at the end of January that an ambulance was called to a hostel in Gällivare.

At the scene, a man in his 20s was found with severe lacerations to his neck. His life could not be saved and another man, also in his 20s, is suspected as the perpetrator.

Broke in with axe and crowbar

During the trial, the defendant states that the deceased and a partner broke into his residence at the hostel with a crowbar and axe when the commotion broke out.

According to the defendant's statement, at some point he picks up a knife to defend himself without the intention of killing.

Be friends with each other before

In court, the relationship between the three people is also clarified.

"We've been friends before, but not lately. People who wanted me badly were close to them," the defendant said in court.

The trial is scheduled to conclude on Monday.
