If there were not already enough open plots in the Turkish soap opera of the negotiations between Podemos and Sumar, a leader of the purple party has brought an unexpected turn of script. Carlos Gil Cuevas, who is a member of the Citizen Council, has registered a new political party called Juntas Sí Se Podemos and has domiciled it socially in what is the headquarters of Podemos in Madrid.

Official sources say that the management had no record of this and say that it is "an error that is being corrected." In that sense, they have already contacted the Ministry of the Interior to try to annul it.

The new party already appears in the files of the Ministry of the Interior, where it is stated that it has been registered this Thursday, June 8. In the free access information it is detailed that Juntas Sí Se Puede has as its registered office at Francisco Villaespesa 18 (Madrid), where Podemos has its national headquarters.

The legal representative of the new formation is Gil Cuevas, who entered the leadership of Podemos as a citizen advisor on the lists led by Belarra, when the last congress of the party was held. Likewise, this leader also serves as co-spokesman of Podemos in Segovia.

To register the match, Gil Cuevas had to provide a logo, an email of the new formation and a website. All this appears in the general information on the Interior website.

The sources consulted emphasize that the party leadership had no information about this maneuver, so the explanation they leave is that they would have done it on their own without warning.

Tomorrow is the legal deadline for registering electoral coalitions. In the event that Podemos signed to participate in Sumar, it would not be able to present an independent list afterwards. The way to get around that would be to do it with another political formation, which being new would have to collect signatures to attend the elections, as Macarena Olona is doing right now.
