Hong Kong, 6 Jun (ZXS) -- The "Achievements and Vision of the 'Belt and Road' Decade -- Bauhinia Culture Forum" sponsored by Bauhinia Culture Group was held in Hong Kong on 7 June. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Mr John Lee Ka-chiu, attended the forum and said in his speech that as a multi-functional platform for the Belt and Road Initiative, Hong Kong has provided important networks and conveniences, and will strengthen the promotion of Hong Kong to countries along the Belt and Road in the future.
Li Jiachao said that the "Belt and Road" initiative has promoted international cooperation in construction, trade and finance, and more than 150 countries and more than 30 international institutions have signed agreements so far, accounting for 40% of global GDP and 45% of world commodity trade.
Li Jiachao pointed out that after the epidemic is over, the society will return to normal, the commitment of the "Belt and Road" will be firmer, and the future development will be more promising. As a multi-functional platform for the Belt and Road, Hong Kong will provide important networks and conveniences, and will strengthen its promotion to countries along the Belt and Road in the future. He mentioned that he had promised the HKSAR Government's governance team last year that it would aim for results, and one year later, he and his team will continue this commitment. With the unswerving support of the country, Hong Kong can give play to many advantages and will continue to do what Hong Kong does best – connecting the world and promoting high-quality development of the country and the world.
Liu Guangyuan, Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said in his speech that the "Belt and Road" initiative has boosted world economic growth, benefited the well-being of all people's livelihood and led the direction of global governance over the past decade. Looking back on the past decade, it is not only a decade in which China deepens high-level opening up and strives for mutual benefit and win-win results with all parties, but also a decade in which China has demonstrated its responsibility as a responsible major country and continuously made greater contributions to world development.
Liu Guangyuan pointed out that Hong Kong is a participant, contributor and beneficiary of the "Belt and Road" with its back to the motherland and the world. At present, Hong Kong is in a critical period of creating a new situation and achieving a new leap, and actively participating in and contributing to the construction of the "Belt and Road" is not only the proper meaning of the country to build a new development pattern and promote a higher level of opening up, but also an important link for Hong Kong to integrate into the overall development of the country and achieve better development.
Wen Hongwu, General Manager of Bauhinia Culture Group, said in his speech that experts and scholars from more than 10 countries and regions including Kazakhstan and Indonesia were invited to attend the forum, looking forward to their in-depth exchanges, suggestions and wisdom for further promoting the construction of the "Belt and Road", and jointly telling the wonderful story of the "Belt and Road" to Hong Kong and the world.
