Fridays for Future wants to know what the Liberals' position is on climate protection. To this end, the environmental activists sent 101 questions to the leadership of the FDP. "Now that the Free Liberals (FDP) have been working against fast and fair climate protection for months, we (Fridays for Future) have questions," says the letter, which is available to the dpa news agency. The list of questions was addressed to party leader Christian Lindner as well as to the parliamentary group, ultimately to the entire FDP.

»Why are a few Porsches more important than mobility for all?«

The questions deal with the FDP's stance on key climate policy issues, but are primarily meant as a provocation. "Why are a few Porsches more important than mobility for all?" and "Does the F in FDP stand for fossil fuels?" are some of the questions. In addition, the activists want to know how the party intends to reduce air pollution in transport and what it thinks of mechanisms to offset greenhouse gas emissions. The role of heat pumps is also discussed. The list concludes with the sentence "How dare you!", which comes from Greta Thunberg's speech at the UN climate summit in New York in 2019.

Fridays for Future had collected some of the submitted questions after a call on Instagram, according to its own statements.

The number of questions submitted is not random. FDP Secretary-General Bijan Djir-Sarai had announced in May in the "Bild" newspaper a list of questions from his parliamentary group to Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck (Greens), without which the consultations on the heating law could not start. According to the Federal Ministry of Economics, however, these were never received. Later, a shorter list from the FDP parliamentary group and a joint list with deputies from the SPD and the Greens were submitted.
