Al Jazeera Media Institute has published its new publication, "The Collector of Journalism Ethics", a book that deals with the theoretical rooting of best journalistic practices that journalists must adopt for a practice committed to professional ethics.

The book, published in cooperation between Al Jazeera Media Institute and the National Press Council in Morocco, comes in 5 major chapters divided into about 50 sub-titles in more than 250 pages, to address most of the ethical aspects of journalistic practices with practical examples that serve as a reference for journalists.

The book begins with a foundational definition of journalism ethics and its basic determinants with a special treatment of digital journalism, and then moves on to explain the regulatory frameworks for journalistic ethics in a structural detail that addresses the roles of press councils and institutional structures in controlling journalistic practices ethically.

The book also explains the main themes of ethical journalistic practice and its applications in daily journalistic work, according to the nature of each journalistic art. It ends with a systematic review of the mechanism by which ethical decision-making is made in newsrooms, particularly in dealing with emerging ethical dilemmas.

The book was written by Dr. Abdelwahab Rami, a professor at the Higher Institute of Information and Communication in Morocco, and edited by colleagues Mohamed Ahdad and Mohamed Khamaissa of the Al Jazeera Media Institute.

The Al Jazeera Media Institute, in cooperation with the National Press Council in Morocco, held a book signing ceremony in the Moroccan capital Rabat at the end of last March at the headquarters of the Higher Institute of Information and Communication.
