It has been a stormy year for electric car manufacturer Nevs. On February 23, 320 out of 340 employees were laid off as a result of the main owner Evergrande's financial problems. Two days before that, Nina Selander switched up from HR manager to CEO of the entire company.

She was prepared for it to be a hard and emotional period, but not for the criticism to be directed at her as a person.

"It's been about how I look, words that aren't connected to the task I have.

"Your mother is a stupid bitch"

In a post on the social media platform Linkedin, she therefore chose to talk about her experiences. Verbal attacks in the grocery store, comments on social media and emails – often without a sender.

Her hope with the post was to create an awareness of what the harsh tone of conversation can create. In it, she talks about how her son at school was told that his mother was "a stupid bitch", because someone's father had said that.

"Somewhere you think that we adults should be able to handle this better. Children have big ears and you have to be careful how you talk.

She attributes the reason for the harsh tone to the fact that she became the face of the company's closure. She believes that many Trollhättan residents still feel a strong connection to the company, which for many is synonymous with Saab.

"I hope it's a sadness that lies in the fact that things turned out the way they did, and then it's easy to have someone to blame for it. I'm not saying I'm flawless, I could have done things differently.
