Pension reform in France: start of another tense week

An epilogue, two days before a new inter-union mobilization? That is what the executive was hoping for. This Sunday, June 4, the first two decrees implementing the pension reform were published in the Official Journal, including the one gradually raising the legal age from 62 to 64 years, the most controversial measure of the text. A publication that also comes a few days before the examination of the bill in the National Assembly of the Liot group to repeal the reform. A week under tension.

Thirty-one implementing texts must be published before 1 September for the controversial pension reform to be implemented on time. This Sunday, the first two were published in the Official Journal.

A first decree on "the gradual increase of the retirement age from 62 to 64 years", and a second on "early departures, especially with regard to long careers".

The publication, two days before the fourteenth day of action on Tuesday, could help mobilize the troops, a demonstration called by the inter-union for whom the raising of the legal age to 64 is the main red line.

New weapon passes in sight in the hemicycle

MPs are also due to examine, on Thursday 8 June, a bill repealing the reform, on the initiative of the Liot parliamentary group. A text emptied of its substance in committee, but which will give rise to new passes of arms during its examination in the hemicycle.

Social anger is therefore not running out of steam and this new day of action may not be the ultimate baroud so hoped for by the executive. This new day of action will be a good indicator of the mobilization against the pension reform.

I think this idea of "last episode before summer" is important...
