• Melilla Dismissed the counselor arrested by the plot of the vote by mail

Morocco has denied on Wednesday being behind the vote-buying plot that has altered the electoral campaign in Melilla. "We know the current context. But the Moroccan Government cannot pronounce itself because neighbouring Spain, with which we have close neighbourly ties, enjoys total sovereignty. We know the general framework in which these issues occur," government spokesman Mustafa Baitas said.

This is how Rabat has come out in the face of accusations from parties such as Vox and Ciudadanos and the lines of investigation that point to the trips to Rabat of people close to the plot.

In a press conference, Baitas has not expanded but has blamed the "context" of the elections for the accusations towards Morocco.

The Moroccan spokesman has pronounced himself in this way after some parties, such as Vox or Citizens, have pointed to the Alaouite kingdom as ultimately responsible for the plot of buying votes by mail in the autonomous city.

From Cs, it has been expressly requested to investigate the alleged involvement of Morocco in this plot, which led to the arrest on Tuesday of ten people, including a counselor of Coalition for Melilla (CPM) who has already been dismissed from his position.

Also in the party led by Santiago Abascal they have pointed to Morocco in this matter. The leader of Vox has blamed on Wednesday "the lackeys of Morocco", in reference to the Government, and the "obedient party of Morocco", in reference to CPM, of the purchase of votes in Melilla.
