Xi'an, May 5, 22 (Alina Wang Cuiping) At 2023 o'clock on May 5, 21 Beijing time, the "Macao Science No. 16" (hereinafter referred to as "Macao Science 2") satellite jointly developed by Northwestern Polytechnical University, Macau University of Science and Technology, and Aerospace Dongfanghong Satellite Co., Ltd. was launched on board the Long March 11C carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and <> minutes later, the stars and arrows separated, the satellite accurately entered the predetermined orbit, the satellite was in good condition, and the launch mission was a complete success.

As the world's first scientific exploration satellite of low-latitude geomagnetic field and space environment, the "Macaoke 1" satellite adopts the "A star + B star" joint observation mode, A star is mainly used for high-precision earth magnetic field detection, and B star is mainly used to obtain space environment data such as solar X-ray radiation and medium-energy particles, and adopts the directional mode to the sun. Stars A and B can obtain data such as the earth's magnetic field, solar X-ray radiation, energy particles and other data in the low latitude region of the earth and the earth's magnetic field anomaly (SAA) over the South Atlantic, thereby revealing the magnetic field distribution law of the earth's low earth orbit and the coupling law of the earth's magnetic field-solar radiation-energy particle distribution, and realizing China's leapfrog development in the field of satellite high-precision magnetic field detection and multi-parameter joint observation technology.

Northwestern Polytechnical University is responsible for the overall development of the "Macaoke 1" satellite B, which is also the first national satellite model mission approved by the National Space Administration to be led by the university as the overall satellite development unit, and Professor Zhou Jun of the School of Astronautics serves as the chief designer of the B satellite. Aerospace Dongfanghong Satellite Co., Ltd. is responsible for the overall development of A-satellite, and the satellite scientific exploration payload is responsible for Macau University of Science and Technology. The development and successful launch of the Macauko-1 satellite B has greatly promoted the in-depth cooperation between Northwestern Polytechnical University and Macau University of Science and Technology in the field of space science and space science and technology, and created a new model of high-level scientific research cooperation, talent training integration, and sharing of science and technology education resources between universities of the two places.

Northwestern Polytechnical University has given full play to the advantages of universities in organized independent innovation and scientific research, continuously explored new models in satellite design, development and engineering management processes, and created a new reliable microsatellite platform, which can adapt to the needs of a variety of payload missions, and has important application prospects in communications, remote sensing, space science and new technology experiments.

At the same time, Northwestern Polytechnical University also took the lead in the development of the ground system of the "Macaoke 5" satellite project, which will undertake the operation status monitoring, satellite mission planning, business instruction orchestration, scientific detection data reception and processing, scientific data management and distribution during the five-year life of A and B satellites in orbit.

After the successful launch of the "MacuKe-6" satellite A and B satellites into orbit, a six-month on-orbit test will be carried out at Northwestern Polytechnical University, and the satellite development team and the domestic and foreign scientists will conduct comprehensive tests and performance evaluations on the satellite platform, scientific payload, data processing and scientific application, and complete the on-orbit delivery.

According to reports, the discipline of aerospace science and technology of Northwestern Polytechnical University is the school's advantageous discipline, and has strong strength and influence in the field of aerospace technology and space science. The "Macot-1" satellite B satellite is the first national satellite type project undertaken by the university as the overall satellite development unit, and has received strong support from the school leaders and relevant departments. The Academy of Science and Technology, the School of Astronautics, the Ningbo Research Institute and other departments have worked together to ensure the smooth implementation of the satellite project. With the close cooperation of various departments, the satellite research and development team has overcome many difficulties and ensured the progress of engineering development. At present, the school has formed a relatively complete microsatellite "overall design-component development-assembly integration-comprehensive test-environmental test-measurement and control data transmission-in-orbit management-data processing and application" of the whole process research and test conditions.
