• Ukrainian War The charismatic Oleksander Syrskyi, architect of the great offensives against the Russians

King Felipe VI has once again shown his support for the Ukrainian people for the second time since the war broke out. The monarch visited the General Defense Hospital on Thursday, where he met with Ukrainian soldiers who have been admitted to the medical center for months healing the wounds of war.

Don Felipe has shared a few minutes with them, known their stories and has been interested in the hospital's protocol to treat these patients, who in most cases need prostheses and remain several months admitted to Zaragoza. The King has known, for example, the story of Oleksander that THE WORLD already told. This paramedic arrived in Zaragoza on February 21. On the front line he lost four fingers on his right hand and both legs.

This was Don Felipe's second contact with Ukrainian victims of the war. In April 2022, the King visited with the Queen and her daughters the Refugee Center of Pozuelo de Alarcón, where they learned first-hand the story of some women and minor children recently arrived from Ukraine. Since the war broke out, both Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have shown their firm condemnation of the invasion of Russia.
