As reported by RIA Novosti in the ministry, the US Embassy was actively interested in the fate of Kara-Murza. Diplomats groundlessly demanded that the American ambassador and consular officers be allowed to see him.

"And the British Embassy showed a similar interest, requesting the possibility of a consular visit at the investigation stage," the Foreign Ministry added.

British diplomats, like their counterparts from the United States, were given "exhaustive explanations" on this matter, Moscow said.

On April 17, the Moscow City Court sentenced the publicist to 25 years in prison by partial addition.

As reported by the source of RT, for many years Kara-Murza provided organizations from NATO member countries with assistance directed against the security of Russia, for which he received about $ 30 thousand a month.

After that, Britain imposed sanctions against five Russian citizens in connection with the verdict of Kara-Murza. Judge Elena Lenskaya, two investigators and two employees of the FSB of Russia fell under the sanctions.
