【Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Special Line】Guitai pottery exchange "Lianqin": You have me in the mud, and I have you in the mud

Qinzhou, 5 May (ZXS) -- "You have me in the mud, and I have you in the mud. Lian Meihui, president of the Tao Puge Aesthetic Talent Development Association in Xiulin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan, who is visiting Guangxi, hummed a song while introducing the story of Hualien ceramics and Guangxi Qinzhou Nixingtao's "Lian Kin", and she was very happy to come to Guangxi again to "continue the frontier".

From May 5th to 16th, Lian Meihui and her entourage of more than ten ceramic artists from Hualien County, Taiwan were invited to Qinzhou, Guangxi, the "capital of China's Nixing pottery", to carry out visits and exchanges in the fields of ceramics, culture and creativity, which is Lian Meihui's second visit to Qinzhou after several years after 17.

This time, Lian Meihui and her entourage had in-depth exchanges and interaction with the craftsmen of Qinzhou Nixing pottery and Xiaojiang porcelain. Lian Meihui also brought some "special" pottery, which were teapots and cups made by mixing the clay of Taiwanese Hualien from Qinzhou and mixing the clay of Taiwanese Hualien to create a fired teapot, named "Lianqin pottery", which has a thick and simple appearance.

Lian Meihui introduced that as the name suggests, the "lotus" of "Lian Qin Tao" represents Hualien, and "Qin" represents Qinzhou, and also "Lian Kin", which originated from a pottery cultural exchange activity she participated in in Qinzhou in 2017.

Lian Meihui said that at that time, she combined the characteristics of Hualien and Qinzhou clay to create "Lianqin pottery". She hopes that through the integrated development of the ceramic industries of the two places, the value of the traditional cultural industries of the two places will be brought into greater play and cross-strait exchanges will be promoted.

In 2018, Lian Meihui brought Hualien's clay to Qinzhou again, mixed with Qinzhou clay to create some works, and planned to participate in the firing activity of Qinjiang ancient dragon kiln in Qinzhou City, but unfortunately, the first attempt failed to catch up because the work did not dry out in time. Later, she brought more than 20 kilograms of Qinzhou clay back to Taiwan to create, so there was the "Lian Qin pottery" work of this Qinzhou trip.

Lian Meihui told reporters that in 2018, she failed to catch up with the firing of the Qinjiang ancient dragon kiln and will participate this year. "'You have me in the mud, and I have you in the mud', which is the embodiment of the integrated development of Hualien ceramics and Qinzhou Nixing pottery, and the family on both sides of the strait. It is hoped that through this exchange, Hualien Ceramics and Qinzhou Nixing Pottery can create a 'spark of love' and promote the common development of traditional cultural industries in the two places." Lian Meihui said. (End)
