The idea is to offer students in grades 1-6 in Vingåker a place at Sävstaskolan instead of them being spread out at different schools in the municipality or in Katrineholm. In this way, travel times to and from schools can be reduced and resources concentrated in one place.

– Then we can create a better and more specialized resource for the educators who have an education to be able to help the children in the best way, says the principal at Sävstaskolan, Susanne Torssander.

According to her, the students can choose whether they want to start at Sävstaskolan or if they want to stay at the schools they attend today. At present, it looks like the school will be able to offer places to up to ten students of different ages.

"We're starting small," says Susanne Torssander.

How big the response will be remains to be seen, but she hopes that students and parents will see the benefits.

"I think it's positive for a lot of people," she says.

The idea is that the activities will start in the autumn.
