"The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova strongly condemns the actions of the ruling regime against the Gagauz autonomy following the election of the Governor of Gagauzia. The scandalous statements of President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, searches in the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia – all this testifies to the regime's firm intention to annul the results of the free expression of the will of the inhabitants of Gagauzia,'' the party said.

The local CEC announced the victory of Eugenia Hutsul from the opposition Shor party. After that, employees of the National Anti-Corruption Center of Moldova came to the Gagauz electoral commission with searches.

According to Sputnik Moldova, police officers came to the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia and tried to withdraw ballots from the elections.

The deputy of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia, Victor Petrov, announced a mass protest action in defense of the choice of voters in the autonomy.
