For the second year in a row, Storvreta Pony Club visits nursing homes in Uppsala municipality so that the elderly can visit the care horse Nisse. The collaboration takes place together with Uppsala municipality.

The riding school director Elin Öhman has had Nisse for over 15 years. According to her, it is important that this activity exists.

"I think he spreads an incredible amount of joy for the elderly. It will be something to talk about.

What if someone is allergic?

– We always ask the accommodation beforehand and then it is up to them whether we should be outside or inside, says Elin Öhman.

Hope the collaboration continues

Elin Öhman hopes that she and Nisse will be able to visit nursing homes next year as well. According to activity coordinator Ida Forslund, the future for Nisse has not been fully determined.

"We have a tour now and then the future will tell how we do next year.
