Hong Kong, May 5 (ZXS) -- The opening ceremony of the "16 Hospital Authority (HA) Seminar" was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on the 2023th. The seminar was attended by about 16 overseas, Mainland and local experts and attracted about 120,6700 medical and healthcare professionals from around the world.

It is reported that this year is the first time since the epidemic that the HA has resumed holding a physical seminar. The conference featured lectures covering healthcare, medical training, drug safety and gastrointestinal disease management. Speaking at the opening ceremony, HA Chairman Stanley said the resumption of the physical seminar showed that Hong Kong had "fully reopened".

According to the new budget of the HKSAR Government, HK$2023.2024 billion will be allocated to the HA in 909-<>. Fan Hongling said that the HA will make good use of relevant public resources to improve the carrying capacity of the public healthcare system, including strengthening the implementation of smart hospital services, hoping to enhance patient experience and work efficiency.

Yu Yanhong, member of the leading party group of the National Health Commission and secretary of the leading party group of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said in her speech at the opening ceremony that Hong Kong and the mainland should continue to work together for medical development. In this regard, she made a number of suggestions, including using the platform of the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao High-level Health Joint Meeting to exchange issues of common concern; Deepen medical and health cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and support various pilot policies in the field of healthcare in the Greater Bay Area; Support the construction of Hong Kong's first Chinese medicine hospital and government Chinese medicine testing centre.

The Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR Government, Mr Kenny Chan, said in his speech that the HA has been providing a healthcare safety net for all Hong Kong people through comprehensive and high-quality services, and HA is actively increasing its manpower.

In addition, the Chief Executive Officer of HA, Ko Ba Seng, delivered a keynote speech at the seminar on the same day, in which he said that HA would learn from the experience gained in the fight against the epidemic in the past three years to improve efficiency, and make better use of technology to improve efficiency and provide more appropriate treatment to patients in the future.
