Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao University Acupuncture Alliance was established. The alliance is led by Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the University of Macau.
18 hospitals including the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Zhongshan Chen Xinghai Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital are members of the alliance. Acupuncture has become the most widely used traditional medicine in the world, according to the World Federation of Acupuncture Societies.
