"The Sverdlovsk department of the FSB of Russia, together with the security agencies of the Ural Federal District and the FSB Directorate for the Central Military District, stopped the activities of eight sabotage and reconnaissance groups, whose members planned to commit a series of terrorist acts and sabotage in the territories of the Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions," TASS quoted Kazantseva as saying on the Russia-1 Ural TV channel.

She noted that a total of 20 people were detained, 13 criminal cases are being investigated.

Earlier, security officers detained three members of the DRG involved in the murder of the deputy head of the internal affairs department in Melitopol of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Zaporozhye region.

On April 27, as a result of a terrorist attack, the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Melitopol and the Melitopol district died from his injuries. Another police officer was also injured.
