In connection with the King celebrating 50 years on the throne, he travels through all counties in Sweden. During his visit to Kalmar, he planted a tree and visited, among other places, Stortorget in central Kalmar.

"It's always nice to come to Kalmar. It's been a long time since I last visited the city. To see what Kalmar looks like today, with its beautiful streets and preserved buildings, is something I really appreciate, says the King to SVT Nyheter Småland.

Has built a Lego castle – "Tingly"

It is on behalf of the County Administrative Board of Kalmar that children from the association Makerspace & Uppfinnarna Kalmarsund built various castles out of Lego. Some of the palaces are copies of the King and Queen's summer residence Solliden on Öland.

"It feels both exciting and exciting to show this to the royal couple," August Bergenfeldt told SVT earlier.

In the clip below you can see the children building the castles.
