Fuzhou, 5 May (ZXS) -- The China-Pacific Nongovernmental Friendship Forum opened in Fuzhou on 12 May. With the theme of "Building a Bridge of People-to-People Friendship and Taking the Road of Win-Win Cooperation", the forum aims to deepen the traditional friendship and practical cooperation in various fields between China and the peoples of the Pacific region, and contribute to the sustainable development of island countries.

Lin Songtian, president of the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said that China sincerely hopes that this forum can achieve the expected purpose of sharing experience, enhancing friendship, promoting cooperation and seeking common development. I hope that all friends will make good use of the opportunities of the forum and offline visits and exchanges to build a bridge of friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation for the people and Chinese of their respective countries, and promote win-win cooperation and common development.

Piloreu Tuita called on Pacific countries to build a "Maritime Pearl Road", as an extension of the "Maritime Silk Road" in the Pacific region, committed to the development of commerce and industry, education and cultural exchanges, promote the common development of China and Pacific countries, enhance friendship, and bring more benefits to the people of their respective countries.

Guo Ningning, member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial CPC Committee and executive vice governor of the Fujian Provincial People's Government, expressed the hope that Fujian and Pacific countries will further deepen economic and trade cooperation, strengthen cooperation in digital economy, marine economy, green economy, cultural tourism economy and other fields, and continuously expand the scale of two-way investment and trade. At the same time, we will further strengthen exchanges and cultural exchanges, and deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of international sister cities, agriculture, education and medical care.

The forum was hosted by the Fujian Provincial People's Government and the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

About 100 people, including representatives of the Pacific China Friendship Association and its <> member organizations, Australian Sister Association, New Zealand Sister Association, representatives of Pacific island sister cities, local government officials, Pacific island ambassadors to China, and representatives of enterprises, media and international students in China, attended the forum to exchange views on three topics: "targeted poverty alleviation and rural revitalization", "green development and marine economy" and "sister-city cooperation and people-to-people exchanges".
