Over a hundred thousand young people leave high school in a few weeks to enter adulthood. And they are doing it in a Sweden heading into a deep economic crisis that no one knows how long it will last. Now they are facing inflation, rising unemployment, high mortgage rates and war in Europe.

Handball at elite level

SVT's Aktuellt has met three young people in Eskilstuna who are graduating this summer. One of them is Pontus Wangeborn who wants to realize his childhood dream of playing handball at an elite level after graduation, despite his mother's advice.

"My mother was on me now about studying in a recession. It's the best thing so that you then come out highly educated when the jobs come," he says.

In the video we meet the future students Pontus Wangeborn, Judith Rönnbrink and Samuel Andersson, who talk about their views on the future. See also the entire Aktuellt reportage series "Kristider" on SVT Play.
