Russian emergency services confirmed on Saturday the crash of an SU-34 fighter in the Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine, shortly after reporting the crash of a helicopter in the same area.

"The SU-34 fell near the Ukrainian border," an emergency source was quoted as saying by the TASS news agency. The fate of the pilots is still unknown.

Less than an hour ago, authorities reported the crash of a helicopter in the town of Klintsi, also located in Bryansk.

"According to preliminary data, the helicopter crashed in the city of Klintsi due to an engine fire," an emergency services spokesman said.

As a result, both crew members of the aircraft died.
