"Nursing work is ordinary and great, trivial and not easy. Exchanging one's hard work for the happiness of thousands of families will be particularly fulfilling. "After 9 years of nursing work, Mei Duo Quzhen, a nurse (midwife) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Meduo County People's Hospital in Nyingchi City, Tibet, is very glad that she has achieved her dream in junior high school.

Metuo County, Tibet, at the southern foot of the eastern Himalayas and in the middle and lower reaches of the Brahmaputra River, is the hometown of Meiduo Quzhen, a Monba nurse. The mountains are high and the cliffs are deep, and the geology is complex. The magic of nature has given Meto the nickname of "Lotus Secret Land" and the nickname of "Plateau Island".

When she was a child, Mei Duoquzhen often accompanied her mother to the hospital to see a doctor. In the face of the careful dedication of medical staff, the seeds of studying medicine quietly germinated in her heart, so she decisively chose the nursing major when filling out the college entrance examination.

"When I went out to study in 2011, I had to take a ride in the county seat, hike over the Galongla Snow Mountain, and then take a ride to Bomi County." The study road over the mountains made Mei Duoquzhen understand more about the difficulty of going out for medical treatment in her hometown, and also strengthened her determination to return to her hometown after completing her studies.

On October 2013, 10, the Zhamo Highway from Zhamu Town in Bomi County, Nyingchi City to Meduo County was finally put into operation, becoming the first traffic artery to Meto. The year after the opening of the train, Mei Duoquzhen returned to her hometown as scheduled to engage in nursing work.

How to grow from a young nurse to an experienced nurse? Mei Duo Quzhen did a lot of homework. As a Monba nurse, in order to do her job better, Mei Duo Quzhen often learns Tibetan and Lhoba languages from her colleagues. "For example, during the hospital delivery, women need to tell them what they need to pay attention to during delivery, how much the uterus opening is, etc., all of which need to be in a language that the mother can understand." Mei Duo Quzhen has become familiar and more handy from the timidity and communication barriers at the beginning to the process of facing pregnant women again and again.

Considering that the local people are not highly educated, Mei Duoquzhen and her colleagues often use opportunities such as health checkups and free medical activities in the countryside to publicize health knowledge. "Pregnant women are now much more receptive to regular check-ups and hospital deliveries than before."

Mei Duo Quzhen said that compared to other nursing jobs, obstetrics and gynecology, whether nurses or midwives, will be a little special. "We are looking forward to seeing the baby born, and hearing the cry of the newborn, especially the well-being of the mother and baby, is our greatest relief. Of course, welcoming a new life also puts forward higher requirements for our professionalism. Professional skills, hands-on ability, etc. require continuous learning, as well as the most indispensable love, care and patience. ”

Walking in Meduo County, Mei Duo Quzhen often meets local people to greet her. Those sincere greetings and simple smiles, Mei Duo Quzhen enjoys the full sense of achievement brought by this profession. "Our job is about delivering babies, but it's not just about delivering babies. It's hard, it's rewarding, and the most important thing is to achieve my original dream. (End)
