On Wednesday, Gnosjö municipality had an information meeting where they announced what measures are planned to be taken and what has already been done to reduce the water flow in the event of flooding. One of those who attended the meeting and who was hit hard by the floods was the homeowner, Josef Holmberg.

"This is a complex issue, and there are certain things that the municipality can do to minimise the risk of future flooding. But depending on the climate, it may also be the case that we are affected again and unfortunately even harder, says Josef Holmberg.

Several future action points are planned, including a new and more efficient forecast using sensors that will be able to measure water levels. The possibility of embankments being investigated to prevent flooding in the affected areas is also being investigated.

"Of course, the municipality has an obligation to safeguard the residents, but then the property owners also have a certain responsibility," says Jan Sandberg, Technology and Recreation Manager, Gnosjö Municipality.
