Trangia has experienced rapid growth in recent years. Increased interest in outdoor recreation during the pandemic, and an increased interest in preparedness, have led to an increase in sales of storm kitchens. It has also meant that the company has grown from 22 employees five years ago to 80 today.

But now the company sees that demand is declining.

– We see that those who sell our products do not want large stocks anymore, and now they sell out what they have in stock without replenishing directly, says Magnus Rydell, CEO of Trangia to SVT Jämtland.

On Friday, therefore, 16 of the 80 employees were given notice of redundancy.

"Of course it's really sad," says Magnus Rydell. Negotiations with the union will hopefully be completed within a few weeks. Then we hope that there will be fewer who have to quit.
