"The presence of heavy equipment at the parade would be inappropriate, since today it is needed primarily at the front and in military units," Rogov told RIA Novosti.

He also noted that the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow was full of symbolism and important messages, including to the West.

"Firstly, the holding of the parade and the participation of such a representative number of people in it suggests that no one is afraid of anything, that we will go to the end, confirming the status of the heirs of the Great Victory. The fact that the parade took place inspires people. The decision to hold it was absolutely correct," Rogov said.

The parade on Red Square was attended by the leaders of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
