"Today, a military parade dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was held at the Russian Khmeimim airbase (Syrian Arab Republic)," the ministry said in a statement.
The military parade was received by the commander of the group of troops (forces) of the Russian Armed Forces in Syria, Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov.
The parade was commanded by the deputy commander of the group of Russian troops, Major General Igor Smoliy.
More than 2,<> Russian and Syrian troops were involved in the foot part of the parade.
