Thousands of Palestinians in the cities of Tulkarm and Nablus (northern West Bank) mourned the bodies of 5 Palestinians who were martyred by the Israeli occupation; two of them were martyred on Saturday morning and 3 were martyred last March, and the occupation released their bodies on Friday.

In the city of Tulkarm, hundreds participated in the funeral of Samer Salah al-Shafei, 22, and Hamza Jamil Khrewish, 22, who were killed on Saturday morning in Tulkarm refugee camp.

The funerals of the two young men took place after their families gave them a farewell look at their homes, then funeral prayers were performed after noon prayers at the Al-Salam Mosque in Tulkarm camp, and then to the camp cemetery.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported "the arrival of two martyrs shot by the occupation to Dr. Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital, in addition to a stable injury in the limbs, as a result of the Israeli occupation aggression in the city of Tulkarm."

According to the ministry, al-Shafei was shot in the neck, chest and abdomen, while Khrewish was shot in the chest, abdomen and left foot.

Local sources reported that an Israeli force stormed the city of Tulkarm and its camp, which led to clashes and clashes with Palestinian gunmen.

Since the morning hours, a comprehensive strike has prevailed in Tulkarm governorate, in response to a call announced by the national and Islamic forces in the governorate to mourn the two martyrs "who were executed in cold blood by the occupation forces."


Nablus Martyrs

In the city of Nablus, thousands of Palestinians participated in the funeral of 3 Palestinians who were martyred by the occupation on March 12 and their bodies were released on Friday.

The funeral ceremony at the city's western cemetery was attended by masked gunmen who fired in the air to express their anger at the continued killing of Palestinians.

On Friday, the Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs (the official contact with Israel) announced in a statement that it had received "the bodies of the martyrs of Nablus that were detained by the occupation, namely: Uday Othman al-Shami, Jihad Muhammad al-Shami, and Muhammad Raad Debek."

On 12 March, the Areen al-Aswad group announced that three of its members were killed in a clash with the Israeli occupation forces at the Sarra checkpoint (southwest of Nablus).


Reactions

Commenting on the martyrdom of the two young men in Tulkarm, the Palestinian government said – in a brief statement by its spokesman Ibrahim Milhem – that Israel is practicing "field executions," holding it responsible for its "crimes."

The statement added that the occupation soldiers practice "their mobile crimes by field executions, without the slightest attention to international laws and humanitarian laws."

The spokesman quoted Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh as holding "the occupation authorities fully responsible for these horrific crimes," and said that "the continuation of the occupation in committing its crimes is caused by the absence of unified international standards, and the sense of impunity for the perpetrators."

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourned the martyrs Hamza Khrewish and Samer Al-Shafei, who were assassinated by the occupation forces. Hamas said – in a statement – that the martyrs of Tulkarm of the Qassam Brigades, and they fought a clash with the Israeli force, and inflicted certain injuries among its members, adding that the escalation of occupation crimes and the continuous Palestinian bloodshed calls for continued vigilance and alarm.

Hamas stressed the need to mobilize all popular and field energies to repel aggression and defend the Palestinian people and their holy sites.

For its part, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades mourned the two martyrs, and said that the martyr Khrewish is the perpetrator of the revenge operation in "Ifni Hefetz," adding, "Our response will be the size of our pain."

In a statement, Islamic Jihad held the Israeli occupation government fully responsible, stressing that the response of the resistance and the Palestinian people to this crime and others is coming.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) mourned the martyrs of the Nour Shams camp in Tulkarm, stressing that the occupation will pay the price for this crime and all its crimes against the Palestinian people.

It also called on the Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip to escalate the resistance and clash with the occupation forces in all cities of the West Bank, in defense of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the prisoners in the occupation prisons.

The Palestinian resistance factions confirmed – during a mass rally in Gaza City on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba – the continuation of the resistance, and that the right of return is sacred and does not fall by statute of limitations.

The Palestinian factions held Britain historical, political and legal responsibility for the suffering of the Palestinian people, and demanded that it apologize and work to lift the historical injustice against the Palestinian people.

The Israeli occupation army has been continuing for months to carry out operations in the northern West Bank, concentrated in the cities of Nablus and Jenin, under the pretext of pursuing wanted persons, and the Israeli aggression since the beginning of the year resulted in the death of 110 Palestinians, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
