The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported on Saturday evening that a settler executed a Palestinian youth from the village of Sandala inside the Green Line, after he was shot after a fight between them.

Wafa added, citing sources, that a settler from the settlement of "Gan Ner" fired his pistol at the young man Diyar al-Omari, 20, in the Marj Ibn Amer area.

Hundreds of Sandala residents protested in front of the entrance to the settlement, while clashes took place with the Israeli police, who fired stun grenades at the residents, arresting two of them.

A circulating footage showed an Israeli settler engaging in a fight with Dayar Omari, 20, and as the latter returned to his car, the Israeli settler pulled out his pistol and fired live shots directly at the young man, killing him right away.

A video circulated on social media showed the settler attacking al-'Omari while he was inside his vehicle on the side of the road, followed by a fistfight between them in the street, before the settler shot him.

Wafa pointed out that a general and comprehensive strike was announced in Sandala on Sunday to protest the crime of execution.

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourned "the martyr Diyar al-Omari, who was shot by a settler inside the occupied Palestinian territory."

Hamas said – in a press statement – "Our heroic people will not pass the crimes of the occupation and its settlers without a response," calling for the escalation of "resistance in response to the crimes of the occupation and revenge for the blood of the martyr Omari and all the heroes of our people, the latest of which is those that narrated the wealth of Nablus and Tulkarm."

Hamas added that "the blood of our people is not cheap, and the enemy will pay a high price."

Wafa pointed out that the Ministry of National Security in Israel approved - earlier - to ease the procedures for issuing a license to carry weapons and shorten the period of its issuance.

Since February, the number of gun licenses in Israel has skyrocketed following an easing ordered by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

Last week, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz revealed the "increase in the phenomenon of violence inside Israel" since Ben Gvir took office, explaining that "the death toll from crimes during the first four months of 2023 is the highest in decades."
