"No, nothing has changed. Everything is in accordance with the agreements between Belarus and Russia, "RIA Novosti quotes the answer of the representative of the border committee to the question of whether the regime of passage across the Belarusian-Russian border has changed.

It is noted that passports are checked for citizens who enter Belarus from Russian territory by road due to the fact that Minsk and Moscow have ratified an agreement on mutual recognition of visas.

The representative of the border committee added that the agreement allows foreigners who have received a Russian visa and enter Belarus not to receive an additional Belarusian visa.

"Now we are monitoring (the flow of people entering the country. - RT), we look at who, how enters the country, in what quantity, "he said.

At the same time, the committee did not specify how long such monitoring of passports would last.

Earlier it became known that checkpoints appeared on the roads between Russia and Belarus in connection with preparations for the implementation of the ratified agreement between the countries on the mutual recognition of visas.

In January 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law ratifying the Russian-Belarusian agreement, according to which foreigners who have received a visa to Russia or Belarus will be able to cross the borders of the second country without obtaining an additional visa.

On December 10, 2022, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed an agreement on the mutual recognition of visas of Belarus and Russia.
