• Monarchy London turns to the coronation: "Who conceives the United Kingdom without its kings?
  • United Kingdom This will be the coronation of Charles III: 100 million pounds and 11,500 policemen

The Monarchies have made a show of unity to support Charles III in his coronation. The British King has opened the doors of Buckingham Palace in two stages. Around 12 noon, the royal family arrived at what was the official residence of Elizabeth II. There, the sovereign and his heir, Prince William, along with Kate Middleton, made a stop to greet the hundreds of people who since the beginning of the week have camped on the great avenue in front of the Palace with the aim of seeing tomorrow the royal procession from the most privileged places possible.

Charles III and some of his closest relatives - Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the aforementioned Prince of Wales - have shared a lunch with representatives of the 14 countries in which, not counting the United Kingdom, Charles III is head of state, including Canada and Australia.

And then, after that meeting, in the afternoon, the king summoned representatives of dynasties from around the globe again in Buckingham to share a reception in which the Royal Houses made a show of strength and unity.

The list is extensive. There have been the Grand Dukes of Luxembourg, Alois and Sofia of Liechtenstein, Frederick and Mary of Denmark, Kiko and Fumihito of Japan, Margaret and Radu of Romania, Philip of the Belgians with his firstborn daughter Elizabeth. Carl Gustav of Sweden was also accompanied by his eldest daughter, Victoria. The heiress of the Netherlands, Amalia, also attended, but in her case with her grandmother, Princess Beatrice, representing William and Maxima – both have been reserved to be present tomorrow at the coronation ceremony in Westminster. The two young crown princesses will not attend, however, to the Abbey.

There have also been Hakoon and Matte Marit of Norway, Abdullah II and Rania of Jordan, Simeon and Margaret of Bulgaria, the kings of Bhutan, the sultan of Brunei – one of the richest men in the world – or the controversial monarch of Thailand. The pretender to the throne of Greece, Paul, has come with his wife, Marie Chantal, and his mother, the widowed queen Anne Maria.

The representation of our country has fallen on Kings Felipe and Letizia, the only guests of the Spanish Royal House. The monarch and his wife have traveled separately to the British capital, as the King has attended an act of the Tour of talent in Lugo in the morning, while the Queen had no events on the agenda. After lunch, both have met at the Spanish Embassy, official residence of the Kings in London, and the only seat of diplomacy with rooms for both.

Around half past four in the afternoon, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia left the Embassy for Buckingham, where the welcome reception for the members of all the Royal Houses who have traveled to participate in the historic coronation has passed. Being a mid-afternoon appointment, the protocol required short suits and no tiaras. Doña Letizia has paid homage to British fashion with a pistachio green dress by Victoria Beckham. On the lapel, the Queen wore Queen Sofia's bow-shaped diamond brooch for the first time. Perhaps a nod to the mother of Don Felipe, who is undoubtedly one of the great absentees of royalty at the coronation. Although at first in Buckingham they considered repeating the formula of the funeral of Isabel II, which was attended by the four Spanish kings, finally only Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have been invited.

At half past six in the afternoon the processions have left the Palace. Jill Biden, the first lady of the United States to attend on behalf of her husband, has been the first to leave. Among the 200 guests at this agape, a much more intimate appointment than today's ceremony with 2,200 guests, has also been the first lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelensky. Charles III was the penultimate to leave Buckingham at seven o'clock in the afternoon, local time. The king aroused the applause of the audience and waved from the car. After him, the princes of Wales have left, ending the day.

The city is armored and prepared for the coronation, a historic event that for the first time can be attended by kings from other continents, breaking tradition.
