Zelensky said this during a press conference in the Netherlands. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities are "realists" and understand that they will not be able to join NATO "during the war."

"But during the war, we would like to get a very clear signal that we will be in NATO after the war," he said.

Earlier, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that Amsterdam supports the ambitions of the Kiev authorities to join NATO.

On May 2, the US State Department stated that the issue of Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance should be collectively decided by all NATO members.

The Kremlin stressed that Ukraine's admission to NATO would create a new significant danger for Russia.
