"I had planned to work in Germany, but it was better for me and my girlfriend to move to Sweden and Dalarna instead," says Filippo, who still notices that there is a shortage of dentists.
One of the reasons he chose Dalarna was the region's language course for foreign staff.
"It was important to me that my partner and I learned the new language and now we could do it together.
He also highlights the long supervision he receives as a great advantage.
"Higher pay would attract more people"
There is a shortage of dentists throughout the country, but in Dalarna the situation is better than a year ago. Filippo Di Paolantonio is one of the most recently recruited dentists in the county and is a welcome addition to the region.
What do you see that can be done to recruit more people?
"Higher salary, you can earn more in other countries. But also to be able to treat more adult patients, then you get the opportunity to do several different treatments, which is developing.
