US authorities announced on Saturday that 5 people were killed in a shooting that targeted a house in southeastern Texas.

The San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office said in the early hours of this morning in a statement that 4 people were declared dead at the scene of the shooting in the town of Cleveland, Houston, while the fifth died in a hospital.

Meanwhile, ABC News quoted police and local authorities as saying that five people, including an eight-year-old boy, died in a shooting at a home in Cleveland, Texas.

ABC News added that the shooting took place late yesterday evening, and police are still searching for the suspect.

The channel reported that officials from the San Hasento County Sheriff's Office received a call stating harassment in Cleveland, adding that upon arrival at the scene, they found a number of gunshot wounds.

The police chief's office told the channel that the suspect was Mexican under the influence of alcohol and was armed, and was still at large.

The ABC report said police did not disclose the identity of the victims or their possible relationship with the suspect, but said they were all Honduras.
