Al-Sadiq Ali Al-Nour, spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA), Minawi's wing, confirmed that his movement adopts a neutral position on the current conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, and that their forces are in their positions and have not moved because they are committed to the ceasefire so far in order to calm the situation and reach a comprehensive dialogue.

Regarding the statement of the Sudanese Minister of Defence that all armed movements work with the regular armed forces side by side in defense of the homeland, Ali Al-Nour responded by saying that the agreement included the formation of joint forces to protect security in the Darfur region, which was trained and graduated to maintain security in Darfur, and therefore these forces participated as they are under the responsibility of the joint command or the joint security committee consisting of regular forces and leaders of armed struggle movements Armed struggle.

Regarding the statement of Mona Arko Minawi, head of the Sudan Liberation Movement, regarding the movement of a joint military force to separate the belligerents, Ali Al-Nour revealed - in his speech to the episode (2023/4/28) of the program "Beyond the News" - that a committee was formed from the armed struggle movements to communicate with the leaders of the Rapid Support and the regular forces in order to calm the situation, while the forces entrusted with preserving the headquarters and citizens' properties communicate with the two parties and not clash with them.

Arko Minawi said that the leaders of the armed movements decided to move a joint military force to separate the belligerents, in cooperation with the local authorities, in order to prevent the expansion of the circle of lawlessness, after the escalation of armed confrontations in Khartoum and its extension to a number of areas, especially Darfur.

The statement of the head of the Sudan Liberation Movement coincided with the renewal of tribal conflicts in Darfur after the outbreak of battles between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese army, and the Sudanese Doctors Syndicate announced dozens of deaths and injuries in armed confrontations in El Geneina, west of Darfur, which the army described as a tribal conflict.

A social time bomb

For his part, journalist and political analyst, Gemayel Al-Fadhel, said that the earthquake that occurred on April 15 is normal to have aftershocks in other Sudanese regions, and that the first region nominated for such tremors is Darfur.

The city of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state, is a social time bomb, and bloody and tribal conflicts are taking place in the region, he said, in addition to the decision to dissolve the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has tempted many parties to settle their scores.

Commenting on Minawi's talk about moving a joint military force to separate the belligerents, Al-Fadhel explained that any intervention between the army and the Rapid Support Forces is difficult to happen without the consent of both parties, which is not available now, which is the same position as the expert on Sudanese affairs, Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Zein, who said that intervention to separate the belligerents can only be done with their agreement.

Al-Zein said in his speech to the program "Beyond the News" that the possibility of the spread of tribal conflict in the Sudanese states, especially since tribal conflicts have historical roots, and in light of the sense of injustice due to the actions of the Rapid Support Forces in the Darfur region, stressing that in the city of El Geneina, for example, the security situation worsened last year to the extent that the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), traveled there himself.
