"During the shelling of the Kharkiv region bordering Russia in 2022, my daughter and her aunt went to Russia - in the only direction where it was possible to escape at that moment," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.

During a speech via video link at an informal meeting of the UN Security Council, Vlasova noted that she could not bring the child back. According to her, she cannot personally come to Russia, as she "risks losing her freedom." The Ukrainian woman claims that the Russian side reported problems with documents.

"I received a message that my daughter was in the regional center for helping families and children "Big Dipper" ... in the village of Yarilovka. She is not allowed to return to Ukraine until the trial is over," the girl's mother added.

The trial, as Vlasova specified, was scheduled for May 10.

The Commissioner for Children's Rights in Russia, Maria Lvova-Belova, earlier in an interview with RT Arabic, said that children from Ukrainian families were taken to health resorts in Russia voluntarily.

In March, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that the Russian side was ready to return the children taken out of Ukraine when there were safe conditions in Ukraine.
