SCA has large-scale plans to build new wind power from Sundsvall and northwards.
"The electrification of Sweden that is under way is a national matter, and that requires a proper expansion of wind power," says Mikael Källgren, SCA's Business Area President for Renewable Energy.
"The municipalities should be compensated for 'taking one for the team', he thinks.
He is sceptical about the government's demand that it is the wind power companies that should pay the compensation to the local community and not the taxpayers.
"Additional burdens on those who invest in wind power and contribute to the green transition will backfire," he says.
