Over 5,000 bus drivers are missing in Sweden and in Stockholm the need for new drivers is between 600 – 800.

On Thursday, the City of Stockholm signed a partnership with the bus company. This means that those who complete the bus driver training in adult education are guaranteed a job afterwards.

"Will attract more people to the profession"

The goal of the agreement and the collaboration is to attract more people to the bus profession, according to Karin Wanngård (S).

Martin Pawgrotsky, CEO of Nobina, says this is gratifying.

"We have a public transport industry that is growing. We are in great need of new drivers and we hope that this rapid training will attract more people to the profession, he says.
