"In the Sosva urban district ... the territorial investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated two criminal cases," the statement said.

The first case was initiated on the fact of possible negligence on the part of officials who did not take the necessary measures to ensure the fire safety of the settlement during the fire hazard period.

The second case was opened under Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia on the fact of causing death by negligence to a citizen whose body was found while extinguishing a fire in one of the houses destroyed by fire.
