The Center for Public Relations of the Federal Security Service of Russia announced the prevention of a sabotage and terrorist act in the Naval Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in Simferopol. According to the agency, a Russian citizen who planned the attack was detained.

"During the search, an improvised explosive device with striking elements in the form of nails, as well as an improvised incendiary explosive device, were seized from him," the FSB press service said.

Criminal cases were initiated against the detainee under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 205 and Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation for the commission of a terrorist attack") and ("Illegal possession of explosives and explosive devices").

According to RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Crimean FSB department, the detainee was arrested. The Kievsky District Court of Simferopol chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of two months.

Criminal cases have been initiated against the attacker under the articles "Preparation for sabotage" and "Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of explosives or explosive devices". He was taken into custody. These articles provide for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 20 years or life.

In February, the FSB prevented a terrorist attack in the Kaluga region, which was planned by two natives of the republics of the Central Asian region. They intended to blow up tanks with fuel and lubricants at a chemical industry enterprise.

According to the intelligence services, the attackers swore allegiance to the IG and, after committing the terrorist attack, planned to leave for the zone of armed conflict in Syria. During the arrest, they put up armed resistance and, as a result of return fire, were eliminated. It was noted that there were no casualties among law enforcement officers and civilian casualties.

In the course of investigative actions at the address of the secret residence of terrorists, law enforcement officers found a laboratory for the production of explosives, as well as a high-power improvised explosive device, incendiary containers, firearms and ammunition ready for use.

In addition, in early February, the FSB detained three Russian citizens involved in the preparation and commission of terrorist attacks on railway infrastructure facilities in the Sverdlovsk region. According to the agency, the attackers acted for a monetary reward on the instructions of Ukrainian neo-Nazis.

The detainees seized the instruments of committing crimes, the symbols of the Ukrainian nationalist armed formation, as well as means of communication and communication containing diagrams of the location of railway facilities.
