After the usual greetings, the Ivorian Head of State launches into an assessment of the actions of his government: fight against insecurity, repatriation of Ivorians in difficulty in Tunisia and Sudan, health, electricity, infrastructure...

For nearly 30 minutes, the president gives figures and good points to his ministers. The opportunity, for him, to show his ambitions for the country. "The economic outlook is favourable. For the year 2023, the GDP growth rate is projected at 7.2% and the inflation rate is expected to fall to 3.7%. Some will say it's an economics course, but it's worth it to show the strength of Côte d'Ivoire."

On the other hand, on the political level, some opposition MPs are showing their frustration: a few months before the municipal and regional elections, some opponents believe that the conditions are not met for transparent elections. "We have still remained today on our end, on the question of the organization of peaceful elections, points out Simon Doho, the president of the PDCI-RDA group in the National Assembly. The CIS, today, which is unbalanced and does not represent the current political diversity of the nation. This is a profound difficulty.

For his part, the Head of State urged political actors to foster a climate of peace in view of these upcoming elections.

The amendments I am proposing include the establishment of two regular sessions of Parliament, one from January to June and one from October to December. The establishment of two ordinary sessions is intended, in the interests of efficiency, to allow more serenity in the examination and adoption of bills submitted to Parliament by the Government by making the period of parliamentary and governmental work coincide.
