It should have been in place in the autumn of 2021, but in the summer of 2022, the foot of the fungus came to Sunnersta in Uppsala, without a hat. Only this weekend was the four-metre-high high-end artwork inaugurated, which has been as popular as it has been mocked by local residents – even before it came into place.
According to previous information, the work has cost the municipality SEK 1.4 million and has been developed in dialogue with several local associations and is intended to serve as a meeting place.
– It feels great in every way, says artist Johan Paalzow, who was present at the opening.
